Rescue Closing ~ Help Needed

A note from our Director

Those of you that know me know I have been battling severe Rheumatoid Arthritis for about ten years. During the past few months my Arthritis has become more progressive and painful. There are good days and bad days, but lately the bad days out number the good. I have always said it’s the furkids that keep me going, but other new health issues have made me realize I’ve reached a point where I know I have to do what is best for them.
When I announced at our last Board meeting that I would be resigning as Director and retiring from rescue, our other foster moms also chose to retire, so after eight years, Little Feet will soon be closing its doors.
Our remaining fosters need to find their perfect homes or new foster moms to help them find their way to their forever homes. We currently have ten furkids, two terrier mix boys and eight Chihuahuas. Most of these kids need moms that are “dog whispers” and able to work with kids that need more than the perfect little cuties.
I will be moving from my house into apartment by mid-May, so all of our kids must be placed before then. Some of these kids don’t have a chance in a shelter environment, so please, if you are a special mom or one of those rescuers that is gifted with special kids, think about helping one of ours. I don’t think I could ever be at peace with myself without knowing each of these special babies are safe.
Each of the kids have their own wire travel crate, bedding, stainless feeding bowls, collars, leashes, and toys. All are spayed/neutered and Heartworm negative; some have update vaccinations due soon.
If you think you might be able to help one of our kids, please contact me directly at: 4littlefeet@bowlinggreen.net

About Little Feet

Founded in 2000, Little Feet is a 501(c) 3 rescue organization dedicated to saving the lives of death row shelter dogs who can not find foster care in other rescues due to lack of space, need of medical or emotional rehabiltation, need of long term foster care, or special placement needs. We also accept owner relinguished pets whose personality, temperament, or medical issues would prevent them from being adopted from a shelter environment.

About Our Fosters

All Little Feet foster kids are assessed by experienced foster moms before becoming available for adoption. We disclose all known backgrounds of those in our care, including how and why they came into rescue, their foster care personality and needs assessment, and any past or on going medical issues.

All of our fosters are required to be spayed/neutered, heartworm tested, wormed, and up to date on all vet required vaccinations before leaving foster care to live with their new families.

Adoption Requirements

Because our Special Placement kids may have individual needs, their special requirements will be stated on their personal Petfinder post. However, the following restrictions apply to all of our fosters.

1. We adopt to indoor homes only.

2. A secure and appropriate fence is a must - No exceptions!

3. You must have an excellent vet reference with records of two or more years available.

4. All other furkids in your care must be spayed/neutered and up to date on all vet required vacinations.

5. A home visit by a Little Feet representative is required before an adoption can be finalized.

6. We do not ship or transport our kids to their new forever homes. You must be willing to travel their foster homes so they can be placed directly from their foster mom's arms into yours.

7. A binding and notarized adoption contract must be signed before any foster will be allowed to leave foster care.

Adoption Applications

Adoption applications may be requested through our inquiry link, from our foster moms, or may be filled out on line at (link available soon).
